A Hinterland Perspective
From
my hinterland perspective, I don't think America knows itself very well or
recognizes the fact that solutions to our problems are cultural.
The frontier is gone, and when that happens to any society, it must turn
within rather than look to the possibility of a "frontier" that was
missed. New frontiers, ever since
John Kennedy mentioned them, must be discovered in our collective gray matter.
Even
Bill Clinton (or should I say especially Bill Clinton) recommend that America
quit feeding off itself and look outward. A
sizeable proportion of America refuses to let go of the notion that this country
can return to its old self by an assertion of some kind, a flexing of a secret
muscle that will bring us back to America of old.
Clinton has warned us, and if we don't start THINKING about the effect we
have on the world (and among fellow Americans) we're doomed to be just another
great country that was...
So,
your Global Media Journal comes at an opportune time.
I will continue to read the opinions of others, especially in this
crucial time in which we live. It
is an excellent publication, a great idea!
I especially liked the commentary section and opinions of those from
other parts of the world.
Congratulations
and continued success with this and anything you attempt.
I know it's ultimately for the good of all.

P.S.
I was able to access an email address for a newspaper in Baghdad, and its
editor, who responded to my question. When
you think of it, it's utterly amazing. Here,
from the aroma of fertilized fields, I can talk to an editor of a country with
whom we are warring against. Let
critics of the internet beware - - the goodness of it all will win!!
