Douglas W. Canfield, Director of International Media Center, Purdue University Calumet, deserves to be recognized for his technical and web related assistance in formatting, uploading, and enhancing the Journal.

This Journal, advised by an editorial board of prominent international communication scholars, publishes refereed papers, invited papers, commentaries, book reviews, and announcements. It also, offers an opportunity to graduate students to publish their work online. Furthermore, the Dialogue section is intended to reflect diverse perspectives related to mass media and global communication.

Global Media Journal, hosted by the Department of Communication and Creative Arts at Purdue University Calumet, Hammond, Indiana, USA, is dedicated to exploring the world of communication. Although the Journal will be published in Spring and Fall of each year, its contents--except for the scholarly and graduate research sections--will be updated routinely.

I hope you will find the contents of this issue informative, engaging, and rewarding. Utilizing the latest modes of digital communication and audio-video streaming, Global Media Journal promises to be innovative, interactive, diverse, comprehensive, and truly global.

Your suggestions and comments for improving the contents and design of the Journal will be appreciated.

With warm regards,
