GUEST EDITOR'S
GUIDELINES
|
All correspondence, paper
submissions, and paper reviews should be conducted electronically.
Please note that each research section—main and graduate—consists of
two (refereed and non-refereed or invited) parts.
- A “Call for Contributions” will
be developed by the Guest Editor and widely distributed via the
Internet and professional organizations newsletters such as NCA,
ICA, BEA, IAMCR, AEJMC, etc. (please see the Announcements
section of GMJ),
- All papers MUST follow the
APA style manual and must include: (a) Author’s address and contact
information, (b) a brief abstract—less than 200 words, (c) five
to ten keywords which reflect the contents of the paper, and (d)
a brief biography of the author—less than 50 words.
- All authors must follow the GMJ
“Submission Guidelines.” See the main page of GMJ for details.
- Papers that do not adhere to the
GMJ guidelines and standards will not be considered for review
and inclusion in the journal. The Guest Editors may, however,
choose to request compliance from the contributors.
- Papers relevant to the theme of
GMJ will go through a “blind review” process. Each paper should
be emailed to 3 reviewers selected from the GMJ Advisory Board
members. Guest Editors may also invite/recruit their qualified
colleagues directly,
- The cover page of each article
and the author's name
must be excluded before emailing it the interested reviewers,
- For the sake of consistency and
fairness, the GMJ “Paper Review Form” will be emailed, by the
Guest Editor, to each reviewer for completion. Each guest
editor should include his/her name, email, and fax number at the
top of the review form.
- The Guest Editor collects
reviewer’s feedback and determines whether or not a given
article should be included in “refereed” section of GMJ. If not,
the Guest Editor may choose to include meritorious papers--that
have not been approved by reviewers--in the “Invited Papers”
section of GMJ. However, such a decision should be communicated
to the author/s.
- The Guest Editors are encouraged
to invite scholars and experts to contribute articles related to
the theme of a given issue. These articles will not go through
the “blind review” process.
- The Guest Editor develops a
“Table of Contents” for his/her section (Main Research and
Graduate Research sections).
- The Guest Editor will write
his/her “Guest Editor’s Notes” in which he/she will summarize
the contents of the issue and make reference to each of the
papers as they are listed in the “Table of Contents.”
- The Guest Editor emails (a) a
table of contents, (b) Guest Editor’s Notes, and (c) the
refereed and non-refereed papers for each section to the
Managing Editor of GMJ, Yahya Kamalipour at
yrkamali@purdue.edu.
