Welcome to My Global Village!

Human beings are parts of a body, created from the same essence.
When one part is hurt and in pain,  the other parts remain restless.
If  the misery of others leaves you indifferent,
you cannot be called a human being...

--Sa'adi Shirazi, Persian Poet-Philosopher and Author
(1204-1292)

Education, Awareness, Cooperation = Solutions

In an increasingly interdependent and complex global environment, My Global Village is intended to serve as a portal or conduit for sharing, discussing, and transmitting a variety of timely information that impact our daily lives.

In order to succeed in this effort, I will need your support in promoting MGV, contributions in dealing with global problems, suggestions in enhancing the contents of the site, and commitment in making our global village a relatively harmonious and peaceful place in which we can all enjoy a decent standard of living, respect for human rights, and freedom of expression.  A village in which most, if not all, of its inhabitants can have access to healthcare, education, food, clean water, and information.  A village that our children would be proud to inherit from us!

The Global Village is much like our communities, neighborhoods, towns, cities, or nations in which we live.  Hence, as responsible inhabitants or citizens, we need to collectively dedicate the same energy, enthusiasm, and attention to the affairs of the Village.  The reality is that whatever happens in the Village--regardless of its geographical location--often touches our lives in some ways.

Please join others and me in enhancing the positive qualities of our Global Village and eliminating the negative or counterproductive tendencies.  After all, the Village belongs to you and I--it's OUR GLOBAL VILLAGE!

With warm regards,

Yahya R. Kamalipour, Editor
