Every spring, Skylark hosts a poetry slam that allows local poets to perform their poetry in competition with other poets. Small cash prizes are awarded to the top three poets. 

The 2006 Poetry Slam will be held on Friday, April 7, at 6:00 in the Student Union Library Building (SULB) 150.

The Poetry Slam is open to the general public, and anyone may participate. The competition will be in three rounds, so contestants should bring three poems. Winners of the first round will advance to the second round, and winners of the second round will advance to a third round. Winners of this round will be awarded cash prizes.
