In
ENG 100 and 104, you explore and practice your writing
processes, analyze and solve the problems inherent in writing
situations, summarize and analyze various types of texts, and
finally use these tools to enter written conversations by
analyzing issues and writing strong responses to those issues.
The topics for reading and writing in 100 and 104 vary, ranging from adolescence to writing to conserving energy. In class, you will participate in whole class discussions, small group work, and one-on-one conferences with your instructors. Your work is assessed and evaluated in portfolios: collections of your work including final copies and draft work. Both 100 and 104 fulfill the first-semester requirement.
