To The Exhibits

In the Spring of 2000, students in the History of Sport (369A) at Purdue University Calumet contributed the first set of exhibits for the Virtual Museum of the Calumet Region.  These projects analyzed various aspects of the history of high school sports in the region.   We hope that this web site reaches a wide audience that includes both residents and persons unfamiliar with the region.  While the students remain proud of their contributions, they do not consider the web site as their property alone.  They hope the site will become an asset to the region.  So they invite participation from viewers, especially those who have insights into the history portrayed on these pages.

The second set of exhibits were posted in the Spring of 2001.  This time students in the Urban America (Hist 369A) .  Their projects concentrated on an array of topics.  The topics were:  the history of furniture and plumbing  in the Region, a look at three real estate developers and who lived in the subdivisions that they developed.
